Cost Control Engineer
QStaffers is currently hiring a Cost Control Engineer for one of our partners, a global leader in the real estate field.
Job Summary:
The Cost Control Engineer will effectively monitor, control, and optimize project costs while supporting cost estimation activities. The role aims to ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets through accurate reporting, variance analysis, and data driven insights. Additionally, the position contributes to enhancing decision-making by developing and maintaining dynamic dashboards using Excel and Power BI, enabling clear visibility of project financial performance and risks.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and control project costs to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
Prepare cost reports, forecasts, and variance analysis on a regular basis.
Participate in the preparation and evaluation of tenders, including cost estimation and pricing.
Develop and maintain interactive dashboards using Excel and Power BI.
Track project progress and expenditures against baseline schedules and budgets.
Support project teams with cost-related insights and recommendations.
Review invoices, variations, and claims to ensure cost accuracy and compliance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including planning, procurement, and finance.
Manage Project Cash Flow forecasting to ensure the Finance department can secure necessary funding on targeted dates.
Develop and maintain a historical cost database to improve the accuracy of future project feasibility studies.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
2-4 years of experience in cost control and tendering (cost estimation).
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, PivotTables, dashboards).
Experience in Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
Good understanding of project control principles and cost management techniques.
Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus (e.g., Oracle, SAP).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
